Entry Level CNC Operator – Milling/turning departments

Advanced Manufacturing Techniques/AMT Motorsport is looking for a highly motivated, highly mechanical person to be trained as a full-time CNC Operator to work primarily within our CNC milling and turning departments. AMT has been in business for 35 years servicing the defense, medical, aerospace, power generation, and motorsport industries among others. The core of our business is highly complicated, tight tolerance prototypes, one-offs, assemblies, and smaller production runs. However our sister company AMT Motorsport produces less complicated parts in volumes from hundreds to thousands, and a hire for this position will likely spend most of their efforts on the Motorsport manufacturing side.

Key responsibilities of this individual would include but are not limited to:

-Operation and tending of CNC 3, 4, and 5-axis mills and lathes with live tooling, Y-axis, and bar feed capabilities

-Setup and oversight of CNC horizontal saw to prepare raw stock for machining

-using calipers, gauges, and various measurement tools to verify part dimensions meet engineering requirements

-assembly/packing/shipping/receiving of finished Motorsport products as needed

-maintaining a clean and organized work space

-effectively communicating with shop personnel and ownership on all job aspects

Ideally an applicant with 1-2 years experience would be preferred, but for this position we'd also be training new hires in our own methods and processes to meet our production, quality, and service goals. So as long as an applicant can demonstrate a storng mechaical aptitude and the desire to work hard, no machining background is required to apply for this position. We work in a very dynamic and collaborative environment so an ability to switch gears quickly, and work well with others is paramount.

Additional base requirements for any candidate:

-High school diploma or equivalent qualification

-Demonstrable attributes of a highly mechanical ability (a mechanical aptitude test will be required)

-Ability to pass a drug test and background check

-Basic foundations in computer and mathematical skills

-Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in warm Summer conditions

-A friendly and helpful attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt

-Ability to work independently

All applicants will be expected to demonstrate these and any other skills that qualify them for the position.

An applicant who meets these criteria can expect the following:

- $18 per hour starting wage with frequent and significant increases coinciding with augmentation of abilities

-8 hour work days on first shift, Monday thru Friday, with possibility of weekend overtime
