Position Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for accurately handling, preparing, and tracking all incoming and outgoing shipments. This role ensures products and materials are received, stored, and distributed according to company standards and regulatory requirements. The associate plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production needs, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery to customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive incoming materials, verify quantities against packing slips or purchase orders, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
Accurately pick, pack, label, and stage outgoing shipments according to customer and carrier requirements.
Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records in the company’s ERP or inventory system.
Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve shipping or receiving issues.
Ensure all product movements comply with company procedures, including FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and traceability standards.
Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety and food safety regulations.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations (food manufacturing experience preferred).
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills.
Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely (certification preferred).
Proficient in basic computer skills and inventory management systems.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
Warehouse and production environment with variable temperatures.
Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated by company policy.
May require overtime or weekend work based on production and shipping schedules.
