The Assistant Manager primary function is to improve the value of the property where assigned. This is accomplished through maintaining the established occupancy through advertising, showing and leasing of units, and resident relations. The position requires him/her to perform the Site Manager responsibilities when delegated. This position relies on effective relationship management, selling and communication skills in order to retain and obtain tenants.
Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical to this position. A strong desire to offer high quality service through responsiveness and getting it right the first time, and the ability to hold people accountable are required. Utilizing previous experience and trends to respond to issues and challenges is necessary.

Competencies and Qualifications
Experience
Basic knowledge of overall office operations of a residential property a plus but not necessarily needed
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to several sites throughout the Tri-City area of Albany, Schenectady, Troy NY
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to maintain detailed records and generate accurate reports
Knowledge of appropriate telephone etiquette
Excellent customer service skills and problem solving
Ability to lift objects less than 25 lbs. without the assistance of tools or devices
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Ability to effective communicate instructions to subordinates
Ability to physically inspect the property daily
Ability to communicate with people of all ages and socioeconomic and situational backgrounds.
Knowledge of standard word processing, database, and spreadsheet computer software and ability to learn specialized software designed for program implementation.
