Location: Capital Region (Albany, Troy, Schenectady)
Pay: Rate negotiable based on Experience
Hours: 20-30 hours/week, Monday-Saturday (flexible hours. Minimum 20 hours/week during 8-6 pm). About half is working from home. The other half is visiting properties. Some weeks this may vary.
Requirements: Working computer, Reliable Transportation. The role requires travel to Albany, Troy, Cohoes, and surrounding areas. 4-5 hours/day ideal.

We are a growing property management company managing a diverse portfolio of older and unique properties—including duplexes, mid-size apartment buildings, and larger multifamily units. We take pride in providing well-maintained housing and responsive service to tenants and owners. As our company expands, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Property Management Assistant to support day-to-day operations and ensure smooth transitions for new tenants and owners.
Position Overview:
The Property Management Assistant will play a critical role in coordinating onboarding for new owners, supporting leasing and move-in processes, and helping to maintain tenant satisfaction. The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, and comfortable working with a variety of people and property types. A current real estate license is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate and complete onboarding for new property owners, including gathering tenant information, collecting keys, and scheduling initial walkthrough inspections.
Coordinate move-ins for new tenants by scheduling dates, preparing move-in documents, and ensuring units are ready.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Department to verify that units are Move-In-Ready prior to tenant occupancy.
Manage lease renewals, ensuring timely communication and documentation.
Prepare and send tenant notices and lease violations, including tracking follow-ups and resolutions.
Conduct property condition inspections using inspection software, and evaluate units for maintenance or compliance issues.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in property management, real estate, or a related field preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with basic property management or inspection software (training available).
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
