Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment & Trucks
Full-Time | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Selkirk, NY
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to work on heavy equipment, heavy highway vehicles, railroad equipment, and diesel trucks. This role requires hands-on mechanical expertise and a commitment to safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect vehicles and equipment to determine condition and identify worn or damaged parts
Perform preventive maintenance, component upgrades, corrosion control, and winterization
Repair, adjust, overhaul, assemble, disassemble, and replace major assemblies and components (power trains, brakes, hydraulics, electrical, fuel, air conditioning, steering, and more)
Conduct test drives to verify vehicle performance and make necessary adjustments
Ensure compliance with federal and state vehicle safety, engine, and emission standards
Requirements:
Proven experience as a diesel mechanic for heavy equipment and trucks
Must have own tools
Dependable, able to follow directions, and quick to learn new tasks
Strong adherence to safety policies and procedures
Pre-employment drug test required; subject to random quarterly testing
Valid driver’s license required
