Javelin is a construction company seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a Site Supervisor and Master Craftsman. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities, from supporting renovation projects by overseeing a quality construction process, overseeing a 2-5 person team and by performing carpentry (framing, cabinets, trim), sheetrock, taping, mudding, tile work and flooring. Responsibilities
Site Supervision: Oversee daily jobsite operations, ensuring projects run on schedule and meet company quality standards. Run a 2–5-person team and coordinate with subcontractors, deliveries, and crew tasks to maintain efficient workflow. Conduct site inspections, enforce safety protocols, and ensure compliance with building codes. Communicate with clients, project managers, and trades to provide updates and resolve issues. Review plans, manage materials, and troubleshoot onsite challenges proactively. Maintain clean, organized worksites and always uphold professional standards.
Master Craftsman: Perform high-level carpentry, finish work, and specialty trade tasks with expert precision. Lead onsite craftsmanship standards, mentoring junior tradespeople and setting quality expectations. Interpret plans accurately and execute custom builds, repairs, and installations. Ensure all materials and finishes are installed to premium quality standards and project specifications. Collaborate with the design team on technical solutions and build details
Carpentry: Construct and install framing, cabinetry, shelving, and trim. Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately. Install moldings, door/window casings, and stair components. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Deliver high-quality finish carpentry and precise craftsmanship
Sheetrock Installation: Measure, cut, and install drywall on walls and ceilings. Fasten sheets securely and ensure proper alignment. Prepare surfaces for taping and finishing
Taping & Mudding: Apply tape and joint compound to seams and fasteners. Sand and finish surfaces to paint-ready condition. Repair drywall imperfections and ensure smooth finishes
Tile Work: Prep and level surfaces for tile installation. Cut, lay, and install tile with proper spacing and alignment. Apply thin-set, grout, and sealant. Clean and finish surfaces.
Flooring Installation: Install hardwood, laminate, LVP/LVT, and tile flooring. Prep subfloors and cut/fit materials precisely. Install underlayment, trim, and transitions; repair flooring as needed
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with ability to tow trailers.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong work ethic and willingness to take on varied tasks.
Ability to lift, move, and operate equipment as required.
Prior carpentry, sheetrock, tiling and flooring experience required and project management experience is preferred.
