Diagnose heavy duty trucks and repair big bore diesel systems and all associated components - Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis
- Inspect services and repair all over-the-road trailers
- Perform daily yard check of trailers
- Service and repair all defects discovered during inspection prior to dispatch, including tires
- Make all emergency repairs on an as-needed basis
- Apply equipment markings to trucks and trailers
- Document all work and time to completion
-Assistant supervisory responsibilities
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Assistant Supervising Duties in Shop
- Computer diagnosing
- Patching Aluminum trailers and translucent roofs
- Putting up side sheets on trailers
- Riveting, Welding and Electrical
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Brake systems / Welding / Riveting / Electrical
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 8+ years of related maintenance and repair on heavy duty equipment
- Welding, trailer repair, and computer diagnostic experience
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations
- Ability to read and comprehend general instructions
- Former military and/or agricultural experience a plus, but not required
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
-Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25lbs/12kg, frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg
Specific vision abilities required: Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
