C.H. Thompson is currently seeking a Production Masker to join our team. As a Production Masker you will play a crucial role in maintaining quality, safety, and productivity through a hands-on approach. Specifically, the role focuses on following customer requirements to apply masking materials including, tape, latex and plugs, in preparation for subsequent processes such as anodize or paint. Masking Preparation & Application:
Material Selection: Using appropriate masking materials (such as tape, plugs, or latex) based on the customer work order, the part's geometry and surface requirements.
Surface Cleaning: Ensure the part's surface is clean and free from contaminants before applying masking materials.
Precise Masking Application: Apply masking materials precisely to cover specific areas (e.g., threads, critical surfaces) that should remain untouched during subsequent processes (e.g., painting, anodizing).
Quality Control:
Visual Inspection: Inspect masked parts for any gaps, wrinkles, or misalignment in the masking materials.
Adherence to Specifications: Verify that masking aligns with blueprints, work instructions, and customer requirements.
Defect Identification : Identify any defects (e.g., incomplete masking) and address them promptly.
Collaboration:
Team Communication: Coordinate with painters, anodize operators, or other production team members to ensure smooth workflow during subsequent processes.
Feedback Loop: Provide feedback on masking challenges or improvements to enhance efficiency
Safety and Compliance:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, safety glasses) to protect against chemicals and sharp edges.
Work Area Safety: Maintain a safe work environment, especially when handling chemicals or using cutting tools.
Qualifications :
Education :
High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
Experience:
Relevant experience in metal finishing, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Communication: Clear communication is essential for reporting findings and collaborating with production teams.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
Technical Skills: Basic math and computer skills, ability to use specialized testing tools and machinery.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and read technical documents and blueprints.
Quality Standards: Ensure all products and parts meet stringent quality standards.
Shift Hours:
Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 3:30pm, Friday 6:30am-12:30pm
Regular Hours - Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Total Compensation Package:
Wage
$17.50+ per hour plus a 90-Day Review for a prospective increase!
Compensation depends on the selected candidate's experience.
