New York Botanical Garden Job Description Title Reports To Registra tion Coordinator Head Registrar Basic Job Functions The Registration Coordinator will be the lead for front-line staff and duties, greets school groups, ensures prompt arrival to registered programs. The Registration Coordinator will be the point person for Security, Visitor Services and Education p rogram managers. The Registration Coordinator must become proficient in registration software and office procedures, and will be able to make quick/important decisions on grounds when the Head Registrar is performing other duties because of shared services. The Registration Coordinator will provide administrative support to registration office and p rogram managers. The Registration Coordinator will provide coverage to the office and act as an administrative point person in the absence of the Head Registrar . Additionally, this position supports, through actions and conduct, NYBG’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility initiatives and actively helps to build and maintain an inclusive organizational culture throughout the institution. Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Will be the lead for front-line staff and duties, greet and accurately check in school groups at School Gate
Education Greeters & Head Greeter will report to Registration Manager while on Grounds in the absence of the Head Registrar .
Provide orientation and assistance to school groups at different locations within the Garden
Manage the Registration Office, address inquiries from the public regarding program offerings
Take on Children’s Education school p artnership registrations for the school office
Create reports as needed for Children’s Education or other departments
Assists in record keeping and reconciliation pertinent to school and family program registration (digital / hard copy)
Payrate : 22.50/hour
Schedule:
Typically, M onday-Friday 9am- 4 pm. Must be available for additional hours on Monday or Tuesday-Friday, as needed . This is a benefits eligible position.
Requirements:
High School d iploma or higher required
Driver’s License required
Excellent leadership and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining professional demeanor and troubleshooting difficult situations
Computer proficiency required, ability to learn various software and applications
Knowledge of the New York Botanical Garden preferred
Willingness and ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and be outdoors
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to, at minimum, stand; walk; sit; use hands, use motorized equipment, reach with hands and arms, and climb stairs. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work outdoors under a variety of weather conditions.
