Description If you're an experienced Senior Accountant, Robert Half needs your professional know-how and leadership for an exciting short-term contract / temporary opportunity. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant position offers you great experience and a strong compensation and benefits package and is based in the Brooklyn, New York area. Responsibilities: Bring a daily dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Review financial results (benchmarks, trends, performance metrics)
Other projects as necessary
Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Prepare reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Organize quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Requirements - A strong track record of communicating, both verbally and in writing, with functional department managers
QuickBooks experience
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
You'll be successful in this position if you have financial reporting systems proficiency
Experience in SOX control execution/documentation
Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
