Cross Safe is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our students and community members. We are currently seeking a dedicated and responsible Crossing Guard to help ensure the safety of children and pedestrians at key intersections around a school in Depew, NY. The shifts are 1 hour in the morning and afternoon on all days school is in session.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor Traffic: Control and direct traffic at designated crosswalks during school start and end times.
Assist Pedestrians: Help children, parents, and other pedestrians cross the street safely.
Ensure Safety: Remain vigilant and maintain a visible presence to deter unsafe driving and pedestrian behavior.
Communicate Effectively: Use hand signals, stop signs, and verbal instructions to manage traffic flow and ensure the safety of all individuals.
Report Issues: Notify school officials and/or local authorities of any safety concerns or traffic-related issues.
Qualifications:
Experience: Prior experience in a similar role or working with children is preferred but not required.
Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and a good understanding of traffic safety.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and manage traffic in various weather conditions.
Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug test post offer and meet all local and state requirements for the position.
