Position Overview:
The Asset Protection Tester is responsible for evaluating and testing the effectiveness of asset protection systems and protocols within the organization. This includes conducting security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and ensuring the systems in place are effective in safeguarding physical and digital assets. The role involves simulating potential security threats, reviewing systems’ responses, and providing recommendations to improve overall asset protection measures.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Asset Protection Systems:
Evaluate and test physical and digital asset protection technologies, including surveillance cameras, alarm systems, access controls, and inventory tracking systems.
Simulate various types of security breaches (e.g., unauthorized access, theft) to assess the effectiveness of current protective measures.
Identify Vulnerabilities and Weaknesses:
Conduct risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities in asset protection systems and protocols.
Collaborate with internal security teams to prioritize and address security gaps.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare comprehensive reports detailing test results, vulnerabilities, risks, and areas for improvement.
Document all findings, system issues, and security breaches in clear, actionable formats for review by management.
Collaboration with Security Teams:
Work closely with the security team to implement improvements based on test results and recommendations.
Provide guidance on how to mitigate identified risks and improve asset protection strategies.
Compliance and Best Practices:
Ensure asset protection systems meet company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
Stay informed on industry trends, emerging security technologies, and evolving best practices.
Security Training and Awareness:
Assist in training staff and departments on asset protection policies and best practices.
Raise awareness of potential security risks and the importance of robust asset protection protocols.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field (preferred) but not required.
Experience:
Previous experience in asset protection, security testing, or risk management (preferred).
Familiarity with security systems such as alarms, surveillance cameras, and access control systems.
Hands-on experience with vulnerability testing, security audits, or risk assessments is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and evaluate risks.
Familiarity with risk management frameworks and security testing tools.
Attention to detail and the ability to document findings clearly.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with management and security teams.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing assignments.
Certifications:
Security-related certifications, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), are a plus.
Other Requirements:
Ability to stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and protective measures in the field of asset protection.
Knowledge of compliance requirements related to asset protection and physical security.

Environment:
