The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing a variety of duties to ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse. This includes receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Unload, inspect, and promptly verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or packing lists upon delivery via small parcel courier, LTL transport, truckload carrier or ocean container.
– Record any discrepancies or damages and promptly report them to the supervisor.
– Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to organizational standards.
– Accurately pick products according to order specifications.
– Pack and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct items are shipped in the right quantities and that they are packaged securely.
– Generate shipping labels and documentation as needed.
– Perform regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
– Assist in maintaining inventory records by accurately recording items added to or removed from inventory.
– Organize and maintain the warehouse in a clean and orderly fashion.
– Ensure that aisles, shelves, and work areas are free from obstructions.
– Follow company safety policies and procedures to create a safe work environment.
– Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, receiving certification or licensure as required.
– Perform routine maintenance checks on warehouse equipment and report any issues.
– Assist in loading and unloading delivery trucks.
– Coordinate with other departments to fulfill customer orders.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
– Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical labor for extended periods.
– Help safely lift heavier objects (along with another warehouse associate) for items requiring a 2-person team
– Basic computer skills for inventory management and order processing.
– Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
– Strong organizational and time management skills.
– Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
– Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification may be required).
Education and Experience:
– High school diploma or equivalent.
– Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.

Frequency
– Constant: standing, walking, lifting 50 lbs., working at heights, and repetitive hand and arm movement.
