Description
Robert Half Technology is seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users in an easy-to-understand and concise format. If you are an articulate problem solver who loves to work in a challenging and positive environment, this may be the role for you! This position is long-term temporary-to-full-time in nature and is based in the Syracuse, New York, area.
What you get to do every day:
- Maintain, analyze, and fix computer systems, hardware, printers, and computer peripherals
- Administer computer desktop support in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Resolve computer problems, and give guidance on appropriate action/solutions
- Offer support on a variety of computer hardware and software issues by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems
- Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, issues and remedial actions taken or installation activities
- Coordinate hardware repairs with the appropriate vendors
- Be in contact regularly and effectively with ticket submitters
Requirements
- Ability to quickly write reports, business correspondence, user instructions, and procedure manuals
- Extensive knowledge of Application Support
- General familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy
- Experience with System Configuration, Updates, and Troubleshooting
- Understanding of Basic Network Troubleshooting
- Experience with Computer and Office Hardware
- Microsoft Windows Server experience required
- BU and DR experience preferred
- Command of Desktop Support both on site and remotely
- 2+ years of desktop support or other related experience
