Summit Technology Services has a long term contract position for an Electrical Power Equipment Engineer in the Corning, NY are (Remote within 3 hours of the Corning, NY area). Job ID S-642 Requirements:
BSEE with a focus in electrical power equipment
Minimum of 10 years experience in the following
Designing electrical equipment, e.g. transformers, power distribution equipment, etc
Designing facility electrical systems, e.g. MV and LV
Conduct power system analysis, i.e. arc flash studies, short circuit current studies, protection and coordination studies
Conducting power quality studies and providing solutions
Calculating short circuit current ratings (SCCRs) of industrial control panels and machines
Conducting electrical safety audits/assessments and identifying mitigation methods
Conducting electrical safety training for electricians, designers, and engineers in groups of 20 to 40 people
Usable knowledge of EasyPower or SKM electrical simulation tools
Usable knowledge of MS Office suite of products
Preferred knowledge or experience:
Useable knowledge of power quality meters, power quality metrics, including transients, harmonics, power factor
Useable knowledge of equipment reliability and mathematical modeling of equipment, including transformers, bus bars, and similar
Usable knowledge of the following standards:
NFPA 70, National Electric Code
NFPA 70B, Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance
NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
PE or P.Eng licensure
Those who have passed the FE exam will be considered
