Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Dobbs Ferry, New York. As an Accounting Clerk, you will primarily handle tasks related to grant accounting and administration, contributing significantly to the efficient operation of the team.Responsibilities Engage in the processing and administration of grants, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Assist in the preparation of initial budgets for the grants, implementing your skills in budgeting and fund allocation. Exhibit proficiency in reading and interpreting grant agreements to ensure they align with our institution's objectives. Regularly update and maintain grant records, showcasing your skills in account reconciliation and data entry. Provide support in the management of federal and state-funded grants, utilizing your expertise in grant management. Assist in the preparation and editing of grant proposals, particularly in the pre-award area. Regularly report on the status of grants, demonstrating your skills in Microsoft Excel for report generation. Allocate expenses accurately across different grants and budgets, using your expertise in expense allocation. Contribute to the broader team objectives by performing related tasks as needed.Requirements Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Experience in Data Entry is essential. Strong understanding of account reconciliation processes. Demonstrated experience in expense allocation and fund allocation. Familiarity with grant administration and grant management procedures and best practices. Proven experience in budgeting and financial forecasting. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are crucial. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion is essential. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in handling financial data. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
