Job Title: General LaborerJob DescriptionThe Raw Milk Receiver is responsible for completing assigned quality-related duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. This role involves receiving trailers of bulk products and testing raw and heat-treated dairy ingredients with PH strips to ensure compliance with FDA, NYS regulations, and company standards. The Raw Milk Receiver supports the manufacture of dairy-related products.Responsibilities
Achieve assigned goals in production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
Notify others of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and equipment capabilities and identify areas where operators can assist in resolving concerns.
Comply with GMP’s, SOP’s, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
Support all areas related to quality as assigned by supervisor/lead.
Receive, test, and determine compliance of all incoming raw dairy and cream trucks, bulk sugars, and oils; receive CIP chemical trucks.
Wash outsides of cream trucks and maintain valves and gaskets on trucks.
Manage farm samples as required by the site.
Monitor silos for testing and proper rotation by coordinating with shift managers/supervisors for silo selection.
Maintain cleanliness of alcove rooms, CIP room, tanker bays, and raw lab per cleaning checklists.
Verify, inspect, and maintain the cleanliness of tankers, silos, tanks, and lines; clean and maintain floor drains in tanker bays and alcove rooms.
Disassemble and assemble sanitary lines and CIP equipment; monitor CIP of all systems and communicate effectively with processing to ensure adequate CIP.
Maintain raw material records in accordance with procedures and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and ensure quality standards set by the company for all products being received and tested.
Identify and label any foreign materials found during unloading or when inspecting in-line screens and report to QA Management.
Maintain the Receiving Log for the shift worked.
Assist and maintain professionalism with tanker drivers at all times.
Maintain communication between additional departments including maintenance, processing, scheduling, and production; promote and provide excellent customer service with all customers.
Demonstrate the ability to operate the internal HMI system.
Cover breaks and lunches and other staffing needs as assigned by their supervisor/lead.
Comply with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing and safety on their assigned shift and report concerns to their supervisor/lead.
Work in a safe manner and report safety concerns promptly to their supervisor/lead and take corrective actions as necessary to ensure a safe environment.
Responsible for reporting food safety problems and initiating action and for supporting SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality.
Ensure work areas are sanitary and strictly adhere to sanitation practices.
Essential Skills
Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and knowledge of weights and measures.
Attention to detail.
Ability to understand and respond appropriately to basic and complex employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Knowledge of the company's mission, purpose, goals, and your role in achieving each of them.
Ability to operate quality and facility equipment as required in the assigned area.
Completion of all company training requirements, including initial licensing and annual proficiency testing of all acquired licenses.
Ability to interpret company documents and standard operating procedures.
Punctuality and communication of tardiness and absences with the assigned Supervisor/Manager prior to the occurrence.
Maintaining a condition to work upon reporting to work.
Adherence to GMP dress code standards and being well-groomed and dressed in appropriate attire (uniform) at all times.
Compliance with performance criteria, standards of conduct as contained in company policy, and employment procedures.
Maintaining a safe work environment and immediately reporting and taking appropriate action to correct a safety concern.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to operate hand tools, forklift, and other equipment as necessary.
Experience in general labor, production, inventory, shipping and receiving, order picking, unloading, and dairy industry.
