Job Description

Objective: The Cleaner is responsible for efficiently cleaning the property to the goals set by Sermar. Responsibilities include: cleaning to ensure safety and upkeep as well as cleaning units to become market ready. Ensuring grounds are kept in good condition as needed and assigned. Requires attention to detail, operation of various cleaning equipment and materials.

Performance Responsibilities

 Common area cleaning – hallways, stairs and laundry room

Sweep laundry room & entry tile floors

Spray and wipe washers & dryers

Wash windows

Empty trash

Remove cobwebs/ dust

Vacuum upper hall, lower hall and stairs, hallways and landings

Wipe around stair railings interior and exterior

Mop uncarpeted floors when needed

Sweep laundry room

 Apartment Cleaning

KITCHEN

Wipe out cupboards, spray & wipe off cupboard doors

Clean stove & refrigerator

Run dishwasher

Wipe off countertops

Clean sink

Sweep & mop floor

BATHROOM

Spray & clean tub

Wipe out medicine cabinet and vanity

Clean sink & countertop

Clean toilet inside & out

Sweep & mop floor

BEDROOMS, HALL, DINING AND LIVING ROOM

Begin in bedrooms

Wash windows, wipe off window sills and tracks

Wipe off closet shelves and doors

Vacuum closet, bedroom(s),hall(s) – be sure to clean the edge of the carpet

Sweep patios and balconies

Wash patio glass inside and out

Sweep out storage areas

 Follow daily checklists and cleaning sheets.

 Ensure trash is picked up throughout grounds and around dumpster areas of both Holiday Manor and Sheridan Park.

 Assist with grounds such as mowing, trimming, weeding, seeding, raking and snow removal as needed and as assigned.

 Show the initiative to take appropriate action without being asked, proceeding in routine matters without instruction.

 Demonstrate interpersonal skills and teamwork by developing strong professional relationships with residents and external clients.

 Carry out policies and procedures of Sermar Management as indicated in the Property Manager's Manual, Resident Retention Program, Safety Manual, Resident's Manual and the Sermar Management Employee Handbook.
