The Tasting Room Manager will have oversight and management of the retail shop and direct to consumer sales, this means wine clubs and online customers. We are looking for a candidate that can help develop and execute a sales strategy and that can effectively promote wine sales with a high level of customer service and who can adapt to sales trends and change strategy accordingly. This person will play a vital role in creating a dynamic sales team that will promote Knapp wines. Candidates should possess a high level of energy and a keen ability to motivate and inspire others for success and have wine retail experience.
We are looking for a team-oriented person with a passionate attitude that will complement the current dedicated management teams. A good candidate will be a self-starter and a person who will manage the retail activities of the winery, including the skillful use of social media, and of other marketing tools that extend beyond the tasting room. We want an individual who can further our brand and philosophy while helping us obtain sales goals. He/she will play an integral role in building and maintaining relationships with our wine club memberships and loyal customers.
Typical duties of the Sales Retail Manager include but not limited to the following:
Helps to manage and hire a highly motivated sales team.
Ensures that every visitor has a very positive and enjoyable experience
Proficiently and effectively uses the POS system, and assists in managing daily operations.
Maintains adequate inventory of wine and wine related products for the tasting room
Works within budget guidelines given by General manager and Owner
Manages customer communications through wine clubs, phone, e-commerce and other related collateral material.
Coordinates, facilitates and implements special events specific to Knapp Winery and trail events
Develops innovative ideas for increasing sales in the tasting room and internet with management team.
Qualifications include the following:
Minimum five years of experience in any general retail sales
Professional appearance and demeanor
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong management and customer service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite- Word and Excel
Knowledge of wine and the ability to communicate with a wide range of people
Winery Tasting Room Experience
Mandatory Requirements
Must be able to work on weekends and holidays as needed.
Must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly and stand for long periods of time.
