We are seeking an energetic, skilled Line QC (Quality Control) for our facility in Penn Yan, NY.
JOB SUMMARY:
Our Line QC staff perform initial line clearances for beginning of production on either aseptic product lines or yogurt lines.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow proper GMP and Safety rules at all times.
Perform in process quality checks for weight control, brix, seal integrity, code accuracy and legibility
Perform in -process sensory analysis for each change of condition (i.e. new product, lot, or batch)
Communicate product specification deviations promptly to QC Tech and/or Lab Tech and Production Lead and/or Supervisor
Inspection of raw materials/packaging for quality deviations (report non-conforming materials to Supervisor and Inventory Control)
Ensure proper collection of lab samples for each production
Assist QC Techs and Lab Techs with other tasks as needed
Perform initial line clearances for beginning of production on either both aseptic lines or both yogurt lines
Perform in process quality checks for weight control, brix, seal integrity, code accuracy and legibility
Perform in -process sensory analysis for each change of condition (i.e. new product, lot, or batch)
REQUIREMENTS:
Good oral and written communication skills.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge and experience of Aseptic Operation.
Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff members.
Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Associate's/Bachelor's degree in food science or related field is highly preferred. High School / GED required
2-3 years' experience or equivalent employment preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Working extended periods of time standing
Excellent communication skills and working as part of a team
Flexibility to work various shifts and extended work days
