Job Summary
We are seeking a self-staring and dedicated Life Skills Instructor to provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be a creative self starter and have experience in art, cooking, baking, karaoke, music and movement, public speaking and caregiving, with a passion for helping others achieve independence and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Ensure client safety during instruction
- Develop and execute art based activities
-Set up and facilitate cooking and baking class
- Use projector and curriculum during life skills instruction
- Use of computer during karaoke and music and movement
- Utilize outdoor space for outdoor activities
- Facilitate small group instruction in art, music, life skills, cooking, baking and social skills
- Support clients in developing essential life skills and promoting independence
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to enhance their well-being
- Collaborate with site director to ensure holistic care for clients
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience in cooking, baking, creative art, behavior management, special education, or related fields
- Knowledge of supporting people with developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and working with people with developmental disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction
Experience:
Teaching/ Direct support professional : 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:

Compensation: $18 per hour
Schedule
M-F 830-3pm
M-F 330- 7
Saturdays 930-130
Hiring for several shifts. Shifts vary from 1.5- 6.5 hours based on client registration
