As we prepare for the upcoming 2025 season, we're seeking three new team members with experience or interest working in the kitchen, the garden and/or our retail environment. Positions and shifts vary from BOH to FOH, weekday/weekend, and morning/evening shifts.

JOB DESCRIPTION / IDEAL CANDIDATE

We’re looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our farm shop café team! This role involves supporting our chef with weekly food prep, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and providing smooth behind-the-line service during busy weekend openings. We’re looking for someone reliable, quick on their feet, and eager to learn. Prior kitchen experience is a plus, but a great attitude and teamwork is what matters most. NOTE: This position is paid hourly via payroll, plus pooled tips which usually range between $50-$150/shift per team member.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Weekends & Weekday Shifts Available

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen

Prepare and present high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients

Oversee food preparation, portioning, and presentation standards

Wash and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment

Help with receiving and storing deliveries

Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety regulations in the kitchen

Help develop new menu items and specials

Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients

Support the team during busy service periods

REQUIREMENTS

Previous Back-of-House Kitchen Skills (preferred)

Fri-Sun Weekend Availability & Holidays

Punctuality & Reliability (of utmost importance!)

Excellent Communication Skills (in person & via phone/email)

Close Collaboration Skills with a Small Team

Strong Self-Motivated Work Ethic

Flexible, adaptable, and positive attitude toward challenges

Enthusiastic about food, hospitality, and customer service

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely

Capable of standing for extended periods while executing tasks efficiently

Able to work in environments with high heat and cold exposure

Physically capable of bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting as required

Skilled in safely handling, operating, and controlling hot equipment and food products

Acceptance of Constructive Feedback

Driver's License and Transportation to-and-from Work

At Least a High School Diploma or its equivalent

Must be authorized to work in the US
