We are looking for an experienced restaurant professional to join our opening team as Sous Chef. The
right person for this job has a passion for cooking and hospitality, is looking for a new and exciting
opportunity outside of NYC.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Ensure Food & Beverage standards are maintained
Ensure the consistency in the preparation of all food items by colleagues
Ensure that hygiene and safety protocols are implemented and enforced to the highest standard
Communicate effectively with the rest of the team
Manage time for all kitchen team members by overseeing breaks and managing labor cuts;
assist with labor scheduling as needed
Ensure all colleagues are trained and held accountable for brand standards,
Ensure prep is completed properly and to company standards, including making par
adjustments, completing quality control checks and making recipe adjustments when necessary
Consistently have a presence with colleagues
Take responsibility to uphold the cleanliness, maintenance and storage procedures
Execute opening and closing checklists
Review reports to be current with VIPs and special groups, communicate special requirements
and monitor execution
Required Experience
A good attitude!
Previous experience in a culinary management/supervisory role
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively and collectively as part of a team
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing,
Identifying and solving problems as necessary
Great food and beverage knowledge
Excellent verbal & written communication
Ability and willingness to learn
Physical Abilities:
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without
assistance, and frequently lift and bend from the waist
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing,
listening and hearing ability and visual acuity in both daytime and nighttime lighting
Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift and perform
repetitive motions
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Requires manual ability to use, carry, and operate all necessary equipment
