ABOUT US

Styled Affairs is the whimsical-but-wired-tightly brainchild of Tiff Porter — veteran fashion stylist, visual storyteller, curator of curiosities, and founder of the iconic “Old Hollywood” retail brand in NYC. After two decades styling shoots, stores, sets, and celebrations, Tiff has brought her creative orbit to Hudson, NY, where she will be launching the new - Department of Styled Affairs: a playful yet polished creative agency that blurs the lines between interior design, costume, fashion, creative direction, and set styling.

Our recently relocated field office is nestled in a 22,000 s/f warehouse just 5 minutes from Hudson Center which also houses

www.arch-nyc.com, and we’re looking for a bright, driven, multi-talented intern to join us this summer and help bring the vision to life. Our intern will be paramount in helping not only 'Styled Affairs' but ARCH as we get this mess organized, taking lots of content, organizing shoots and learning the tricks of the trade from one of the best. You will be helping with tasks for both ‘Styled Affairs’ and Arch. Please familiarize yourself with the type of work we produce before applying.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

You’re a savvy, hands-on creative with serious curiosity and the hustle to match. You’re glued to your iPhone (but in a good way), you have tons of pinterest boards, you know how to shoot an Instagram Reel with style, and you understand that a “keen eye” can be trained. But you must already have onebc they can't be taught. You love good lighting, styled spaces, and well-chosen outfits. You’ve got solid taste—or the guts to develop it. And when something needs doing, you do it. Whether it’s organizing vintage jewelry, styling a tabletop scene, sewing on a feather trim, hauling props into a photo studio, or getting dirty in a storage container, you’re game. If you are a hard worker and tackle anything that comes your way with a great CAN DO attitude you will fit in nicely.

I am building this company from the ground up so this is a good foot in the door not only for Styled Affairs, but for Arch. So bring your A game if you want to be in the woodshop, learn to weld, or want to really get good in the scenic department. I do a lot of festival and event related work so if you love the festival vibe this is a great place for you. We do the most epic stuff!

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU…

Have a creative background or interest in carpentry, interior design, furniture building, upholstery, fashion, prop styling, photography, or creative and art direction.

Have a passion for all things vintage and wonderful and have a favorite time period (or two) that you know maybe a little more than the average person about.

Are comfortable shooting/editing video content on your phone (Instagram, TikTok, Reels, etc.)

Love a good mood board and are fluent in Pinterest, Canva, or similar tools. BONUS POINTS if you know your way around google slides and spreadsheets.

Are organized to the point of obsession—folders, checklists, color-coded labels, etc.

Have a strong visual POV and want to keep developing it.

Are interested in building a career in design. Particularly : graphic, production, environmental, or interior design. Want to open your own store one day (brick and mortar or online), or dream of being a fashion or prop stylist — we want you!

Are great with your hands (crafty, precise, or just not afraid of a hot glue gun)

Can lift 20 lbs and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves

Thrive in slightly-extremely chaotic, highly aesthetic environments

Know how to use a drill, a staple gun, and aren't afraid to get dirty.

Have a flexible schedule and access to reliable transportation in Hudson, NY

Ideally we want someone who is studying in the field of production, interior design, fashion or prop styling, or you think you may want to go in this direction and will really get a lot from this opportunity.

I am looking for an intern to commit to at least 8-12 weeks to gain the most from this opportunity. If you aren’t in school any longer this opportunity can extend into the fall.

Exposure to real-world client work across fashion, interiors, and event styling

A front-row seat to how a small creative brand actually functions or doesn't function (from curation to chaos)

Access to Styled Affairs vintage and textile archives for projects

Meal stipend + travel coverage + plenty of learning opportunities. If it's a good fit I will move you to an hourly rate rather quickly, we will do a review at 2-3 weeks to discuss. In order for this to happen you gotta already show up with some hard skills like sewing or graphic design.

Use of shop space + tools to work on your own projects (based on availability or after hours) - Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Paint/Scenic Department

Future letters of recommendation, glowing references, and portfolio development, school credit (if applicable).

If you’re no longer in school I want to emphasize I am calling this an internship for applicants who want to develop these skills. If you have already been working in this field and have a lot to offer, please still apply and we can talk about it.

TO APPLY:

Send us a brief intro about yourself, what you're into right now (aesthetic obsessions, artists, rooms, movies, outfits, etc.), and a few images (your work or inspirations).
