The Plumbing and Heating Supply Data Administrator is responsible for managing and updating product data, pricing, and product data within the Epicor ERP System. This includes maintaining accurate product information, implementing pricing changes, creating new products, and ensuring data integrity. The role also requires the ability to analyze percentage price changes before uploading data and proficiency in Excel (including VLOOKUP) for building import CSV files to load data into the ERP system. Additionally, the role requires a solid understanding of plumbing and heating products to make informed decisions or escalate issues to management as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
System Job Overview:
1. Data Management:
o Upload and update product details (part numbers, descriptions, pricing, statuses) into the Epicor ERP System.
o Create new products and discontinue outdated ones in the system.
o Ensure product and pricing data are accurate and up-to-date.
o Create and prepare CSV import files for uploading into the ERP system, ensuring all data is accurate and verified after the upload.
2. Pricing and Excel Management:
o Implement price changes as directed and ensure consistency across all systems.
o Analyze percentage price changes before uploading data to ensure accuracy.
o Generate import CSV files using VLOOKUP and other Excel functions to format data for upload into the Epicor ERP System.
o Uploading data into ERP system and verifying all data loads for accuracy.
3. Report Analysis:
o Pull and analyze reports to ensure pricing data and master data accuracy.
o Review pricing trends and resolve any discrepancies in product or pricing data.
o Use Excel to create reports summarizing pricing and product changes.
o Ensure all data is validated for accuracy before uploading into the Epicor ERP System.
4. System Improvements:
o Assist in identifying and implementing improvements in data management processes.
o Troubleshoot and resolve any system or data issues within the Epicor ERP System.
5. Product Line Knowledge and Decision-Making:
o Apply a strong understanding of plumbing and heating products to make informed decisions regarding product discrepancies or unmatched items.
o When necessary, escalate unresolved issues to management for further guidance or clarification.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
o High school diploma or equivalent required.
o Associate’s degree or relevant certifications in business administration or related fields preferred.
Experience:
o Minimum of 2 years of experience in data entry, inventory management, or related administrative roles.
o Preferably within a plumbing, heating, or construction supply environment.
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
o Strong proficiency in advanced excel functions such as VLOOKUP to build and manage import CSV files for data uploads.
o Proficiency in defining Excel formulas to analyze price change percentages, ensuring that price adjustments are accurately applied and consistent prior to data upload.
o Experience with ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor) for managing product and pricing data. Epicor data management experience preferred but will train.
o Solid understanding of plumbing and heating products to make decisions about unmatched items or escalate to management when necessary.
Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and correct discrepancies in data before it is uploaded into the system.
