We are a state-of-the-art picture framing business located in beautiful Millerton, NY. We work with everything from Picasso’s to family heirlooms to children’s art. We work with the very latest in picture framing equipment including computerized mat cutting and computer visualization systems. Our clients are across the US and include private collectors, interior designers, museum professionals, local and international artists. We value education and assist interest employees in becoming Certified Picture Framers (CPFs) as well as attend the industry's largest conference and trade show.
The Position:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative associate picture framer to join our team. Starting salary range is 35k – 43k/year commensurate with experience, retirement plan with company match, paid time off benefits, and room for growth/management opportunity. Willing to train an interested and talented individual to industry preservation standards. Position is full time only, Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm. This is not a woodworking position.
Qualifications:
MUST be able to read a ruler and add/subtract simple fractions.
Ability to work with hands; high level of dexterity.
Willingness to learn and problem solve.
Superior customer service and positive attitude.
Excellent attention to detail and communication.
Ability to learn computer software.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Creative/design background preferred, frame experience is a plus!
Reliable transportation to Millerton, New York.
Ability to stand at a workstation.
Partial List of Responsibilities:
Develop and learn proper framing techniques for conservation framing, treatment and proper handling of artwork, photography, shadowboxing.
Ability to work independently, accurately, carefully and timely.
Assist in all aspects of picture framing and framing sales.
Develop and learn design skills for custom picture framing including measuring accurately.
A professional and courteous attitude are required (dress code & safety rules apply).
