About the Role
We’re hiring a top-tier Auto Paint Repair Technician to deliver near-OEM finishes on daily-driver, lease-return, and high-end vehicles. You’ll handle everything from spot repairs and blends to full-panel refinishes with speed, precision, and zero comebacks.
Key Responsibilities:
Damage Assessment: Inspect panels, identify substrate/clear-coat failures, and select the correct repair strategy (spot, blend, full panel).
Surface Prep: Sanding, feather-edging, filler/putty, priming, guide-coat blocking, masking, and panel cleaning.
Color Match: Use variant decks; mix toners; spray-out cards; adjust hue/value/chroma for perfect match.
Refinish: Apply sealer/base/clear (waterborne or solvent) with HVLP/Compliant guns; achieve correct film build, metallic orientation, and DOI.
Blending: Perform edge and adjacent-panel blends; melt-in/burn-in techniques to OEM texture.
Finish & Polish: Wet sand/polish to remove defects; correct orange peel, nibs, and texture for OEM-level gloss.
Quality Control: Inspect under multiple light sources; maintain repair documentation and photos.
Maintenance & Safety: Clean guns, manage waste, follow PPE/OSHA standards, and keep the work area immaculate.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years professional refinish/paint repair experience in collision or high-volume recon.
Mastery of HVLP technique, waterborne/urethane systems, and modern curing processes.
Proven color-matching expertise (spectro + manual variant matching).
Strong knowledge of substrates: steel, aluminum, plastics (bumper covers), fiberglass, carbon.
Fluent with masking systems, repair mapping, and blend panel selection.
Able to read TDS sheets; comfortable with booth controls, gun setup, and viscosity/reducer choices across temps/humidity.
Clean driving record; ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

I-CAR, ASE B2/B5/Refinish certifications or equivalent training.
Experience with lease-return standards and dealership QA.
