Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Painter/Finisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both residential and commercial painting and finishing. As the lead, you will oversee painting projects from start to finish, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding a team of painters while maintaining effective communication with project managers.
Duties:
Supervise and coordinate painting projects, ensuring timely completion and quality standards are met
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as needed
Apply paint using various techniques including airless paint spraying, brush, and roller methods
Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and requirements
Estimate materials needed for projects and manage inventory effectively
Train and mentor junior painters on best practices in painting techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage
Perform maintenance tasks such as caulking, plastering, and minor repairs as required
Collaborate with other tradespeople on renovation projects to ensure seamless integration of work
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety regulations
Requirements:
Proven experience in residential and commercial painting with a strong portfolio of completed projects
Knowledge of color theory and construction estimating to assist in project planning
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and industrial painting equipment
Familiarity with plastering, stucco application, trim carpentry, frame carpentry, masonry, concrete finishing, and welding is preferred
Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately for effective project execution
Strong basic math skills for measuring areas and calculating paint quantities
Previous experience on construction sites with an understanding of safety protocols is essential
Excellent communication skills to effectively lead a team
