JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience applying fertilizer, herbicides, fungicides and insecticides utilizing granular and liquid formulations on residential and commercial properties.
Must have experience with core-aeration and overseeding.
Must have the ability to identify common turf issues.
Must have the ability to operate ride on lawn care equipment.
Must have a clean valid New York State drivers license and the ability to drive and navigate a commercial vehicle safely. As per USDOT regulations new hires will be subject to a pre-employment drug screening test.
Must have the ability to lift at least 75lbs
Must be detail oriented, have strong communication skills and have strong memorization skills.
Must have reliable transportation and be able to work from 6:30AM to 5PM (regular hours 6:30AM to 3PM)
Must be able to work overtime and weekends when requested from May 1st - July 1st and from September 1st to October 1st
NOT REQUIRED BUT USEFUL:
A two or four year degree in Horticulture, Turf Grass or related field
New York State DEC Applicator or Technician license 3a
State of Connecticut Applicator or Operators license in Turf and Ornamental
ISA - Arborist Certification
Experience with commercial tree and shrub care
COMPENSATION PLUS BENEFITS:
- $15-$25 per hour based on experience and credentials
- Overtime pay is one and a half times regular rate
- Employer sponsored health plan available (after 60 days of employment)
- 2 sick days per calendar year (accrued weekly)
- 5 paid vacation days per year after one year of employment (accrued weekly)
- 5 paid holidays per calendar year (after 60 days of employment)
