To keep food displays fully stocked and displayed in an aesthetically pleasing way. The position includes customer service counter support, receiving and distributing food orders, operating the deli register, some food prep to support the cooks and hot bar attendant. We seek out, welcome and celebrate people with diverse identities to participate in our community-owned cooperative business structure.Status: Level I, Support Staff, Supervised by Executive ChefResponsibilities:CUSTOMER SERVICE Assist customers with product questions in a prompt, and courteous manner, referring them to other staff when necessary.Check out customers quickly and accurately, using correct prices and department codes. Work as part of a team to develop a hospitable department space that feels welcoming to all.Handle all customer needs and complaints in a courteous, respectful, and efficient manner. Knowledgeable about all Prepared Foods products.Help customers in placing and receiving prepared foods orders SANDWICH AND ACTION STATIONStock, rotate, aesthetically organize, merchandize and face products according to department procedure.Stay up to date with all sandwiches, action station dishes, and products the department offers.Take orders for making sandwiches and ensure that customer receives order once complete.Ensure that products are properly labeled and dated as per store and department protocol. Offer samples when a customer is curious about a Sandwich/Action Station product.Correct service errors immediately to improve customer satisfaction.Work to establish correct and aesthetically pleasing foods served to each customer.Always keep prep areas clean and sanitized.Maintain accurate food temperature in coolers/hot hold areas and record in temperature logs.STOCKINGWork as part of team and establish priorities to curate aesthetically pleasing displays.Replenish and rotate displays as needed.Dispose of damaged or spoiled goods appropriately (compost whenever possible).Label products with appropriate PLU and price when necessary.DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCESee that unsaleable items are properly disposed of. Keep accurate shrinkage records.Ensure that service case, hot bar, med bar, shelves and storage areas are clean, orderly, and meet health standards.Remove trash promptly; sweep floor as needed.Participate in inventory counts.Ensure maintenance of department equipment and notify manager if equipment breaks.SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIESFollow GreenStar's safety policies.Assist other employees in safety needs. Report unsafe equipment and conditions immediately. Participate in safety training programs as required. Perform other tasks as assigned to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.STOREWIDE AND OTHER DUTIESAttend HR training sessions, all-staff meetings, and department meetings to be informed.Support on-the-job training of new staff.
