We just lost our second and much loved home health aide who is leaving to tend an ailing family member of her own out of state. So I am on the hunt now for someone experienced with dementia patients to cover hours from 1-5 M-F or any similar hours or parts thereof. Must be patient, kind, cheerful, and resourceful in thinking of ways to comfort and engage a generally affable but sometimes resistant 83 year old retired professor in our country home SE of Brooktondale. Occasional light housekeeping and meal prep, but this is mostly companion work. I take care to interview and research prospective aides to be sure of creating a mutually satisfying situation. Expect them to vet us as well. Must be non-smoking, covid vaccinated and okay with cats and dogs. Horse experience a plus but not necessary. We are flexible about carer's own requirements and pay. Good leads wildly appreciated
