We’re a well-established company with an excellent reputation seeking Residential & Commercial Painters for interior and exterior residential and commercial projects in Cortland, Ithaca, and surrounding areas. Responsibilities & Duties
The Residential & Commercial Painter will regularly:
Work alongside a crew of painters under the direction of a site foreman to complete all aspects of the project
from prep to paint to clean-up in a competent and timely manner and to the highest degree of craftsmanship,
including:
Protecting all nearby furnishings and building materials before and during every painting job, including
carpets, cabinetry, outlet covers, lighting fixtures and landscaping.
Preparing walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping old paint, using sandpaper, etc. then cleaning
and priming the surface.
Patching and repairing drywall and trim as needed.
Paint surfaces according to the site foreman’s instructions with both traditional and modern painting tools.
Clean-up the job site on a daily basis and keep the work area tidy during the work day.
Follow health and safety procedures as instructed by the site foreman at all times.
Interact with customers and other crew members in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner at all times.
As needed, the Residential & Commercial Painter position will also require:
Availability to work overtime and on Saturdays when necessary to complete our obligations to a project.
Willingness to work on scaffolding and on high ladders
Qualifications & Skills
The successful applicant for this position must have:
A high school diploma or GED.
A valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Access to a reliable vehicle to work sites across the Central New York area.
Experience in residential and/or commercial painting, or experience in a similar trade such as landscaping or
construction and a willingness to learn new skills.
A solid work ethic and a commitment to be a reliable and professional addition to our team.
A commitment to a high standard of quality and attention to detail, as we promise our customers the highest
quality workmanship and a clean work site.
Good communication skills when interacting with customers and other crew members.
