Job Title: Warehouse Assistant

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Position Summary:

Through Finger Lakes ReUse’s shared values of safety, respect, and resourcefulness, the Warehouse Assistant is responsible for receiving, handling, processing, and transporting reusable materials to serve the community. Additionally, they support the ReUse Centers and our Transport Services crew and contribute to the general maintenance of our facilities. The five key tasks of this position are:

Support a friendly and orderly receiving area and warehouse environment, including moving materials throughout the warehouse(s), sorting, organizing, and preparing materials for markets, and maintaining receiving and inventory records.

Support the movement, processing, and inventorying of donated materials in the warehouse(s).

Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible in day-to-day tasks, moving from forklift tasks to hands-on material processing tasks as needed.

Contribute to general organizational day-to-day maintenance, including custodial support, ice and snow removal, lawn, grounds, and building maintenance and upkeep.

Demonstrate safety, resourcefulness, and respect and engage in positive, respectful working relationships with coworkers, including employees, volunteers, and trainees.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience and ability to self-motivate and work respectfully with others.

Ability to complete assignments and communicate with all coworkers in a positive, friendly, and helpful manner.

Demonstrated ability to problem-solve independently without direct supervision.

Ability to interpret various written, oral, diagram, and schedule instructions.

Ability to legibly write and complete forms and reports, perform basic arithmetic and follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to load/unload pallets and other equipment used for transporting products.

A current New York driver's license and a clean record.

Minimum education is not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in solving practical problems in a changing work environment.

Previous experience in human services, volunteer coordination, and/or with reuse or retail operations.

Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.

Weekend and occasional evening availability is preferred.

Forklift experience

A CDL license is preferred

Compensation:

The wage is $18.45-$19.50 hourly, depending on experience. This position is full-time, working 35 hours per week.
