Brightworks Computer Consulting is seeking a qualified integration engineer to add to our growing IT project team. Candidates should be able to design and implement IT systems including LAN/WAN infrastructure, VMware vSphere based server systems, Microsoft Windows Hyper-V, Microsoft Windows server infrastructures, Microsoft SQL server, Cisco IOS devices, Linux, FreePBX and other common systems.
Candidates should be well organized and capable of planning and executing complex projects with many interrelated moving pieces.
This is a high-level position requiring operating with great autonomy. One would be responsible for making high risk, urgent, and/or important technical decisions. Candidates will share their knowledge and mentor less experienced staff and work with the rest of the team to drive the definition of technology standards.
Additionally, candidates should have exceptional communication skills and should be able to explain complicated technical concepts to non-technical individuals. Candidates must be capable of producing well written, well organized documents. This position requires a great deal of written communication
Typical workload includes assessing the needs of a client or potential client and reporting on the findings, generating project plans, performing implementations, making recommendations to clients, and providing assistance to our support team for difficult technical problems.
Work is performed remotely from our offices and on-site at our client locations throughout the Ithaca and Tompkins region and surrounding area.
