Description Robert Half is currently looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team for a long-term contract / temporary opportunity. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant position offers you great experience and a strong compensation and benefits package and is based in the Jamaica, New York area. Coordinate quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Put together Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Other projects as required
An endless desire to improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Achieve compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and controls by working with business partners
Administer monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Build analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks) Requirements - Candidates that are proficient in financial reporting may be most suitable for this opportunity
Ability to work well with functional department managers
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Foundational knowledge in journal entries
Comprehensive knowledge of Annual External Audit
Expertise in Annual Financial Reporting
Deep understanding of financial reporting
Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
Efficient in ERP systems
Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
