Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in JAMAICA, New York, 11432-5070, United States. The role involves a wide range of responsibilities in the accounting field, including account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. Responsibilities: Carry out meticulous account reconciliation tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting Perform thorough balance sheet reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial records Conduct detailed bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are accounted for Use Microsoft Excel and other software like Oracle, SAP, and NetSuite for financial data analysis and reporting Prepare and post journal entries to keep the general ledger up-to-date Contribute to the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Leverage your accounting skills to resolve any discrepancies or financial issues that may arise. Requirements Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Proven experience as a senior accountant or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation. Proficiency in bank reconciliations and general ledger management. Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and its applications in accounting. Experience in executing month-end close procedures. Knowledge of accounting software including NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity. Sound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to meet deadlines and solve problems. Certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
