Okaru Restaurant in the heart of Roslyn Long island is looking for dedicated and passionate Bussers and Runners. Serving Modern Japanese food in a fine dining atmosphere
Runners duties:
Deliver food: Carry food from the kitchen to the correct table
Communicate with staff: Relay customer requests to the kitchen and provide feedback to management
Maintain cleanliness: Wipe down tables, chairs, and other surfaces, and keep condiment and server stations stocked
Set up tables: Prepare tables for guests, including setting up linens and condiments
Pack takeout: Package takeout orders and expedite carryout and catering orders
Address concerns: Respond to customer concerns and relay them to management
Follow regulations: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
Food runners need to be able to communicate well with customers and other staff, and be able to multitask. Removing used plates, glasses, cutlery and napkins from tables after diners are done eating
Busser duties
Wiping up water spills, food stains and dirt from tables
Straightening out the tablecloth or replacing stained ones
Replacing cutlery and glassware in anticipation of new diners
Refilling paper napkins, salt and pepper shakers and any other depleted condiments on the dining table
Refilling drinking glasses with water
Bringing out meal orders if waitstaff are busy
Handling cleaning of the dining area at the close of day
