Position: Dishwasher/Steward
Pay: Starting at $16.00 per hour
About Us: Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa is a premier luxury destination on the East End of Long Island, offering an exceptional experience for our guests. We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Dishwasher/Steward to join our team and help maintain the high standards of cleanliness and efficiency that our resort is known for.
Responsibilities:
Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils in a timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dishwashing area.
Dispose of trash and recyclables following proper procedures.
Assist with general cleaning and upkeep of kitchen areas as needed.
Support other kitchen staff and help with additional tasks as directed.
Requirements:
Prior experience in dishwashing or a similar role preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform physically demanding tasks.
Adherence to New York State health and safety regulations, including wearing protective clothing (such as aprons and gloves) and non-slip shoes.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Compliance with New York State's minimal health and safety requirements for food handling and cleanliness.
Wearing of protective clothing and footwear to ensure safety and hygiene.
Ability to handle and lift heavy items safely to prevent injury.
