Responsibilities:
Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
Informing customers about new beverages and specials as they are implemented each shift.
Building and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers whether at the bar or in the dining room, based on the flow of service, and tickets behind the bar.
Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
Observing the inventory of batched cocktails, garnishes, glassware, plats, and utensils, and alert Management about ordering supplies to ensure the bar and tables are well-stocked.
Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
Other duties as assigned by ownership, management, or supervisors.
Requirements
Basic verbal communication skills
Passion for food & beverage
Ability to work in a friendly relaxing demeanor with quick customer service
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to multitask
Detail oriented
Legal authority to work in USA
Qualifications:
Must be 18+ years of age
High school diploma/GED preferred
2+ years NYC server experience preferred
Excellent oral communication skills required
Positive interpersonal skills required
Strong customer service skills required
Ability to speak English and be able to write in basic English (multiple languages a plus)
Food Handlers Certification
Be able to stand for long periods of time
Knowledgeable of Toast POS software a plus
Physical Requirements:
Standing is required for the majority of the shift (90%)
Some light to medium lifting will be required throughout the shift, anywhere from 2-30lbs.
