Looking for someone to care for Mom in East Islip on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays. Mostly you will be providing companion care. This means spending the day watching TV with my mother and keeping her in good company.
Duties to include:
Help with dressing and undressing
Light showering and toiletry assistance
3 light meal preps per day with clean up afterwards
Help when transferring from couch to bed etc
Helping them to take their meds 3x a day
Light housekeeping
Required Skills, Education and Certifications:
Empathy, compassion and kindness a MUST
Ability to use sound judgement and remain calm in a variety of situations
Must be reliable, dependable and on time
Must have reliable means of transportation to and from work
You will need references and a background check will be completed.
Experience as a caregiver is absolutely required.
Partly Paid by Addus from Bohemia under Medicaid, plus extra Private Pay totaling 26.50/hr. You will have to sign up with Addus, it's not difficult.
3 days a week currently available. 3 days x 12 hour shift will get you to 36 hours a week.
This is NOT a live in position. You must be local from Suffolk County and have reliable transportation.
