Looking for someone to care for Mom in East Islip during the week. Mostly you will be providing companion care. This means spending the day watching TV with my mother and keeping her in good company.
Duties to include:
Help with dressing and undressing
Light showering and toiletry assistance
3 light meal preps per day with clean up afterwards
Help when transferring from couch to bed etc
Helping her take her meds 3x a day
Light housekeeping
Required Skills, Education and Certifications:
Empathy, compassion and kindness a MUST
Ability to use sound judgement and remain calm in a variety of situations
Must be reliable, dependable and on time
Must have reliable means of transportation to and from work
You will need references and a background check will be completed.
Experience as a caregiver is absolutely required.
Partly paid by HCS Homecare from Bohemia under Medicaid, plus extra Private Pay totaling 26.50/hr. You will have to sign up with HCS, it's not difficult.
2-4 days a week currently available. 7am to 6pm or thereabouts.
This is NOT a live in position. You must be local from Suffolk County and have reliable transportation.
