Looking for someone to care for Mom in East Islip. Will also need occasional coverage in Westbury for father in law.
Duties to include:
Help with dressing and undressing
Showering and Toiletry assistance
3 light meal preps per day with clean up afterwards
Help transferring from walker to regular seating
Helping them to take their meds 3x a day
Light housekeeping
Required Skills, Education and Certifications:
Active New York state Home Health Aide (HHA) license in good standing is preferred.
Alzheimer's or Dementia experience is a plus
Empathy, compassion and kindness a MUST
Ability to use sound judgement and remain calm in a variety of situations
Must be reliable, dependable and on time
Must have reliable means of transportation to and from work
You will need references and a background check will be completed.
Experience as a caregiver is absolutely required.
Private Pay $27/hr. Shifts will be from 8 to 13 hours per day on which you are needed. Advance notice will be provided on the days we need you, except in case of emergency.
If you belong to PPL this is a big plus. When you work in East Islip with Mom you will be paid on the books through PPL with additional private pay to make the rate equal $27/hr. Mom is easy, doesn't need much help but she can be verbally difficult.
When you work in Westbury with my father in law he will need help with toileting etc. He is non verbal and sometimes resists being moved as needed. When working here you will be paid $25/hr straight private pay with additional pay for travel possibly included.
