Automated Financial Systems (AFS) is looking for entry-level and experienced medical billing associates for full-time career opportunities in our Ronkonkoma office. Since 1990, AFS has been working on behalf of hospitals to collect on unpaid insurance claims. We are looking for hard-working and reliable candidates to join our team as paid full-time trainees or experienced billing specialists.
TRAINEE: This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in the growing field of medical billing. Please apply if you are interested in a career in medical billing and have a working knowledge of excel and outlook. Starting salary is $17.50 per hr.
EXPERIENCED: Please apply if you have prior medical billing experience, preferably but not limited to hospital claim processing. Salary range is $19 - $28 per hr.
Responsibilities:
- Review and follow-up on unpaid hospital insurance claims
- Review EOBs for payment accuracy and denials
- Appeal denials and underpayments
- Submit paper and electronic claims
- Review and process correspondence from insurance carriers and patients
