I am a 29-year-old male who uses a motorized wheelchair living on my own in Bay Shore (walking distance to the LIRR and Main Street). I am seeking Personal Care Assistants to assist me with activities of daily living during the following shifts:
Weekend daytime shifts (Saturdays and Sundays 8AM-8PM). These shifts include accompanying me on errands/social outings, dressing/showering, using the bathroom, laundry, assisting with meals/eating, and transferring in and out of my wheelchair using a Hoyer lift (no physical lifting).
Thursday daytime shift (8AM-8PM). These shifts include assisting me while I work remotely, accompanying me to medical appointments/errands/occasional in-person meetings for my job, dressing/showering, using the bathroom, laundry, assisting with meals/eating, and transferring in and out of my wheelchair using a Hoyer lift (no physical lifting).
Weekday evening shift (6PM-8PM). These shifts include assisting me while I work remotely, assisting with meals/eating, accompanying me to medical appointments, using the bathroom, laundry, and transferring in and out of my wheelchair using a Hoyer lift (no physical lifting).
Job requirements:
being comfortable with all of the above activities of daily living
being responsible/reliable, flexible, and having reliable transportation
willingness to drive my wheelchair-accessible minivan
non-smokers preferred
No previous experience is required. I will provide on-the-job training. This is a great opportunity for students!
