Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs in common areas and individual units as needed. Troubleshoot and address minor electrical and plumbing issues.
Coordinate with external contractors for more extensive repairs and projects.
Janitorial Duties: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of common areas. Regularly clean and maintain the building's interior and exterior spaces. Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as necessary. Manage garbage removal, complying with Freeport Dept. of Sanitation pick up schedules and recycling rules.
Resident Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with owners and tenants. Address resident requests and concerns promptly and professionally. Assist new residents with move-in procedures and orientation to the building. Communicate issues to management.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in building maintenance, janitorial services, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of gardening, electrical, plumbing, and heating systems.
Ability to repair sheetrock, including taping, spackling, and painting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle physical tasks.
Flexibility to work on-call or respond to emergencies as needed.
Knowledge of Nassau County building codes and regulations is advantageous.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30 - $35 per hour
Schedule:
Rotating schedule includes weekends
