Polar Bear of New York is a leading private soda systems company in the New York City metro area. We serve over a thousand customers in the food and refreshment services industry (e.g. bars and restaurants). We provide soda equipment installation and maintenance services and we supply soda syrups and CO2 gas to help our customers provide exceptional fountain soda products to their patrons.
The General Warehouse Associate (GWA) will be central to our business operations in the warehouse. They are responsible for loading our trucks every morning with products going out for delivery that day to our customers. Products include boxes of syrup that way 40LBS each and CO2 gas canisters that can way as much as 175 LBS each. This role requires experience operating a fork lift and hand trucks with loads of similar size.
The GWA will receive training and be responsible for performing mechanical maintenance on soda equipment that we get back from customers. They will repair and restore defective items like carbonation machines and soda guns so that we can redeploy them in the field.
This position requires someone with sufficient strength to load and unload product from trucks. They should be able to lift in excess of 75LBS to be able to perform the duties of this position. Some mechanical skills are required as well. Training on how to perform maintenance on soda equipment will be provided but it would be an added bonus if this person has proficiency in using tools and maintenance on plumbing and/or small motor equipment.
