Shovelers’ Job Description:
Shovel snow from sidewalks, driveways, and other designated areas.
Operate snow removal equipment such as snow blowers, plows, or other powered tools if needed.
Spread de-icing agents like salt or other chemicals to prevent ice accumulation.
Perform pre- and post-shift inspections of equipment.
Follow company procedures and safety guidelines.
Plow Operators Job Description:
Drive trucks equipped with front and/or wing plows, along with belly plows, and spreaders for salt or brine.
Plow, push, and stack snow from assigned areas like streets, highways, and commercial parking lots.
Spread salt, brine, or other de-icing agents to prevent ice formation.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment before and after use, performing minor maintenance and reporting any defects.
Plow Operators Requirements:
A standard driver's license is required, and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is often necessary, especially for public road plowing.
Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including long hours and potentially working in extreme cold.
