Female Live-In Caregiver needed for a 32-year-old female with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who currently lives with her Mom & Dad.
Location: Massapequa, New York, The LIC is provided, private sleeping quarters, Private sitting area, Private bath, Separate entrance, with backyard with a swimming pool.
Ideal Live-in would already be cleared to work for ISS
Schedule:
Super Flexible schedule, 10 to 40 hours of work per week
Live-in can have other employment or be a College Student
The Live-in is required to sleep at the home 7 nights per week.
The Home will be the Live-ins primary-legal residence.
The Live-in will be required to be on call as a backup care provider 3-5 nights & days per week to provide assistance if needed, based upon mutually agreed to schedule
Compensation:
Hourly Wage for all hours worked, based upon experience
Free Rent and Free Food
Reimbursement for use of car (58 cents per mile driven)
Paid Training
Wages paid maybe exempt from Federal and State income taxes.

Responsibilities:
Be available to client living in the home to ensure her health and safety.
Provide assistance to the client when she is not feeling well or if she requires assistance with a task she cannot complete independently.
Provide assistance to the client, ensuring she is protected and safe in the event of an emergency
Provide oversight while the client self-administer medication
Perform personal care tasks as needed
Adhere to all HIPAA and OPWDD privacy and confidentiality regulations
Perform other related duties as assigned

Healthy meal Preparation 3-4 nights per week
Ability to work with people with developmental disabilities in a respectful manner
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to act and stay calm in an emergency
Patience dealing with challenging behaviors and willingness to teach new skills
Read, understand, and act as directed on written documents pertaining to individuals in your care.
Requirements:
Be able to pass criminal background check
Valid Driver's License
High School Diploma/Equivalent
Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification and other mandatory training courses
Prior experience working with people with developmental disabilities is desired but not required.
