Concern for Independent Living, Inc. is a non-profit agency committed to helping individuals and families to live in the community with dignity and enhanced opportunities through the provision of housing and support services. We are one of the largest housing agencies of this kind in New York State, currently serving approximately 1,300 individuals and families in over 240 locations. Concern offers a variety of housing options with individualized support services designed to support personal growth and independence.
We are seeking an awake overnight counselor who will be primarily responsible for the overall monitoring and safety of the residents and the sites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
â¾Adherence to all policies and procedures as set forth in Concern's personnel manual.
â¾Read log for updates, instructions, and assignments.
â¾Provide counseling as needed, redirect to regular staff when appropriate.
â¾Crisis intervention as needed.
â¾Weekly medication counts, check for accuracy and corresponding documentation.
â¾Perform hourly walk-thrus of site during shift.
â¾Unlock kitchen and set out food for breakfast.
â¾Participate in monitoring of morning meds as needed.
â¾Prompt clients needing to wake early.
â¾Attend site's monthly staff meetings.
â¾Participate in all trainings as required, including Essential Learning.
â¾Attend agency forums.
â¾Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.
Qualifications: Requires a minimum of a high school diploma with two years of experience. Work experience in a similar setting is a plus.
Schedule: Saturday & Sunday; 12am - 8am
