Event Production Manager & Event Designer

House of Dipali is seeking an Event Designer for an established Floral/Events Company located in Garden City, Long Island. We are a full-service event decorator company specializing in executing highly customized events, our business is primarily known for producing breathing taking events throughout the Tri-State area and as we are growing and expanding our operations with the new opening showroom we are looking to add more talents to our team! This is not a slow pace position and can be very demanding - every day has different challenges.

We are seeking a Event Designer who will work in conjunction with our planning and production team to bring our clients’ vision from conception to execution. The Event Designer will be responsible for developing creative concepts and event designs for bespoke weddings, corporate brand experiences, and social events.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Experience in the design and sales of special events for Weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and Corporate events

Meet with clients and assist in providing beautiful collateral in the form of mood boards, EWS, drawings, product etc. in order to drive and close sales, and grow brand awareness; as per client’s vision and company’s guidelines.

Assist in updating and generating presentations, renderings, flower formulas, concepts, estimates, samples, contracts, budgets, planning, logistics, sourcing.

Keep all projects up to date and organized: take thorough notes, step into complete the work on existing projects, present information in a clear, concise manner for fast decision making and ensure timely follow-up

Be physically present at the installation of all booked events as needed to assist in managing successful completion of design vision.

Develop systems to move thru efficiently and effectively the repetitive steps in the design process

Applying and calculating the pricing formula to properly price on floral items.

Ability to work with customers in showing typical samples for customer approval and pricing.

Assist in overseeing the tracking of the use of services and materials, last minute purchases to assure timely and accurate billing, to minimize over expenditure and meet profit goals

Perform administrative tasks such as: updating client contacts, creating estimates, filing, typing, faxing, copying,

Ability to go on site for floral item assembly & setup supervision.

Vising venues / site visits with the clients

Establish and cultivate new accounts with venues, event coordinators, event planners and corporations

Calendar maintenance and coordination; including scheduling and time management

Closely and thoroughly implement and follow policies, procedures and control systems

Research, analyze, and share relevant market trends related to art, design, and the events to help inform design and production ideation

Managerial / Supervisory experience.

Know most designer elements: linens, florals, furniture rentals, lighting, and A/V equipment

Provide design plans, a breakdown of needed materials with a corresponding detailed budget, and build out accurate timelines

KNOWLEDGE + SKILLS REQUIRED

Presentation skills required

Fluent in Google G Suite

Knowledge of Canva, preferred but not required

Knowledge of Allseated or other floor plan software, preferred but not required

Knowledge of Curate, (florist software) but not required

2+ years related experience in hospitality, event design or within related creative industry

Innate creative thought process

Strong communication, presentation, and customer service skills

Effective time management and demonstrate ability to multitask to adhere to strict deadlines

Must be able to pay close attention to very fine details

Possess strong interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor

Ability to ensure development of a proposal and meet clients’ specifications

Self-starter, able to work independently with little supervision, but also collaborate well in a team environment

Ability to cultivate relationships with various levels of employees, vendors, and clients

Must attend Day-of Event set ups and installations
